Guide

Dotonbori
A shopping area located in the Minami district of Chuo-ku. Crowded with restrants and drinking places, the area features giant illuminated signs by Glico and other advertisers, the landmark Chi-daore clown doll, and a large number of theaters, such as the Shochiku-za kabuki theater.

Impression

The exterior walls of the building, which are lit up in various patterns at night with LEDs, are white and balloon shaped, and with film inflated by air pumped into its interior. The exterior walls are made of a soft material called EFTE film, and this is the first building in Japan where it was used.
